Summary of responsibilities for this role (which you will be fully supported with):
- Provide continuous high quality fire safety services to our customers/clients.
- Develop comprehensive and accurate fire safety engineering assessment and strategy reports in accordance with legislative and insurer requirements, relevant standards and industry guidance for all types of buildings including fire engineered and complex buildings.
- Building safety case development under the Building Safety Act.
- Accurate mark-up of architectural drawings by applying relevant guidance for various buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Carry out site familiarisation, compliance and assessment visits.
- Provide sound and relevant professional opinion on key fire safety/engineering matters to customers/clients/colleagues both orally and in writing.
- Review, analyse and report on technical documentation and fire safety strategies prepared by colleagues and other organisations.
- Prepare technical fire safety engineering analysis such as CFD modelling, structural fire engineering, evacuation modelling etc.
- Liaise with enforcing and approving authorities such as Fire and Rescue Service, Building Control etc. where necessary.
- Represent Regent Fire Consultants at design team meetings with design team members and approving authorities involved in building design and construction.
- Provide independent technical advice and opinion on legislative fire criminal matters and risk mitigation and dispute resolution matters under civil litigation proceedings.
Qualifications:
Here’s what you will need;
- Bachelor Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Fire, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or similar).
- Where the postholder does not hold a Fire Engineering Degree, a minimum of Level 4 Diploma in Fire Science and Fire Safety or Fire Engineering Design (or equivalent) is required.
- Working towards or have achieved minimum EngTech registration with the Engineering Council through the Institution of Fire Engineers (or equivalent ) or Engineering Technician with Engineers Ireland (or equivalent).
- Candidates will ideally be working towards Chartered Engineer status with the Engineering Council or Engineers Ireland but this is not essential for the role application. The postholder will be supported through the process to achieve Chartered Engineer status.
- You must have the right to work in the UK/European Union to be considered for this position.
