Resources of Fire Protection teams in UK Fire and Rescue Services are stretched with some struggling to cope with the increased demand on their resources. Our team includes former Fire and Rescue Service Inspectors and Operational Officers who can support Fire and Rescue Services.

TRAINING OF FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTORS

The expectation of Government is that Fire and Rescue Service inspecting officers are competent to undertake their roles and are effective at doing that role. With years of experience training and assessing Fire Protection Inspectors and Operational Fire Safety Officers, our team can provide the necessary support with training and development of Fire and Rescue Service staff. We can create and deliver bespoke training packages for all aspects of fire safety including:

Fire protection systems such as suppression, smoke control and firefighting (how they are designed to work)

Fire safety legislation

Enforcement and prosecution

Operational risk inspections

Inspection of simple, complex, fire engineered and high risk buildings

BUILDING REGULATIONS CONSULTATIONS

The Building Regulations approval process within the UK Fire and Rescue Services is a specialist area of expertise. Most Services have in the past employed dedicated officers dealing with this aspect of fire safety. It can be extremely costly and time consuming to employ and train dedicated officers within this field. Some Services do not always have the time or finances to achieve this. We can carry out Building Regulations consultations and reviews of fire safety engineering design strategies on behalf of Fire and Rescue Services.

We can also support Fire Safety Regulators by acting as the competent Fire Safety Engineer (Chartered Engineer), providing guidance where required as well as peer reviewing work of Fire Safety Engineer’s responses to all building control consultations, including fire engineering submissions.
